Things to remember when reporting a claim
- Date of Loss
- Estimate
- Cause of Loss
- Details of the item damaged and the subject matter of the claim
- Risk address where the loss occurred
- Policy number
- Police Case Number – this is required for all motor claims where a third party or third party property is injured/damaged.
Motor Claims (Accident)
- Fully completed and signed claim form
- Clear copy of drivers licence
- Quotation for repair
- If third-party involved – all details
- Clear description of the event and any witness statements
Motor Claims (Theft)
- Fully completed and signed claim form
- Clear copy of ID and driver’s licence
- All vehicle particulars, de-registration certificate and vehicle licence (proof of ownership)
- Finance company details/settlement letter (if vehicle is financed)
- Keys
Motor Claims (Write off)
- Fully completed and signed claim form
- Drivers licence
- Quotation confirming beyond economical repair
- Original registration certificate
- Keys and spare keys
- 2 completed signed change of ownership forms (Section A)
- An original certified clear copy of insured’s ID – registered owner
- Proxy letter (if registered in a business name) along with copy of business registration number certificate issued by the Liceneing Department
- Original certified copy of the proxy’s ID
- Proxy letter on company letterhead
- Settlement letter from bank if financed
